Senvid Launches MioNet,
the Virtual Workplace for Small Businesses
MioNet Allows Users To Access and Share Files From Anywhere
Palo Alto , Calif. , Dec. 5, 2005 - Senvid today introduced MioNet, virtual workplace software that allows small-business users to remotely access, share and back up data and applications to local and remote computers anywhere, anytime. MioNet delivers a single integrated view of a user's entire digital content, a view that is the same regardless of where the data is located or where they are located. MioNet is simple to set up, easy to use, cost-effective and extremely secure.
"The market for this type of solution is significant," said analyst Tim Bajarin of Creative Strategies. "There are millions of businesses out there looking for a secure, simple, and affordable way to connect their computer-based employees and partners in the office, at home or on the road. E-mailing data from one computer to another or to partners is a hassle and is prone to error. Virtual private networks (VPNs) are too expensive to buy, install and maintain, and remote desktop solutions do not give integrated file access. MioNet has the right feature set and an excellent price point, a perfect combination for this market segment."
Unlike other remote-access solutions, MioNet is the only software that allows users to access files remotely just by clicking File>Open from any application on any computer running MioNet software. MioNet is also the only complete virtual workplace solution offering integrated file access, remote desktop control, folder sharing, USB device access and screen sharing for remote presentations. MioNet requires no new hardware or computer expertise to install or maintain.
"We built MioNet as a virtual workplace for small businesses that don't have an enterprise IT budget but need an enterprise-quality solution for sharing and accessing data," said Lambertus "Bert" Hesselink, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Senvid. "A successful small business requires a network of interlocking business relationships, and MioNet allows small businesses to create efficient, dynamic partnerships by securely sharing selected information between workers, suppliers, partners and consultants."
MioNet improves small-business operations in the following ways:
Increases productivity through remote access
- Work from anywhere and access all data with the same experience as if the user were in the office
- No more e-mailing files home for nighttime access, or worrying about which files to copy to the USB stick or laptop
- Run applications such as e-mail and QuickBooks that are only on the office computer while at home or traveling
- Search all virtual workplace computers at once for important documents
Enhances communication through shared files
- Put important information in shared folders so that all employees have access to the latest documents, forms, benefits information and marketing materials
Supports flexible work schedules
- Be at home, increase the quality of life, and still work like being in the office -- only MioNet enables integrated data access and application usage seamlessly from any computer, anywhere
Enables more efficient partner and supplier relationships
- Lets users securely and instantly share select content with colleagues, consultants or partners, whether they are down the hall or across the world
- Invite business partners to instantly view computer screens for "live" remote presentations
- Share the screen for simultaneous collaboration and co-editing of documents
Protection for one of any business' most valuable resources - its data
- Easy back-up of files and folders from multiple computers to a single device
How MioNet works
Users simply download MioNet to their computer(s), and when they log in, it will instantly determine the folders, computers or devices to which the user has secure, encrypted access. It also allows users to instantly share select content with other trusted people who have downloaded MioNet. MioNet was designed with security in mind. The software does not install any adware or spyware, and MioNet never has access to a user's data nor is a user's data ever stored on a MioNet server. All data transmissions use 256 bit encryption technology, which is much stronger security than SSL VPNs or even using a credit card on the Internet.
Pricing and distribution
MioNet is free for a user to access folders, desktops, and content shared by a paying subscriber. Full functionality, which includes remote access to each user's computer(s) and the ability to share content with others, is free for 30 days and then $39.95 per user per year (introductory price), or $6.95 per month. Each user can have up to five computers per account.
Individual and small-business users can download MioNet at www.mionet.com. Senvid is also partnering with complementary products and companies whose customers can benefit from the MioNet solution. Senvid and SMC Networks announced separately today that MioNet will be bundled with several SMC networking products.
