WD Anywhere Access Powered by MioNet
Senvid's MioNetTM remote access and sharing technology included with Western Digital's
My BookTM World Edition Storage Appliances
PALO ALTO, CA March 15, 2007 - Senvid today announced that its MioNet software is powering the WD Anywhere
Access functionality for the new My Book World Edition family of shared storage appliances by Western Digital Corp. (NYSE: WDC).
The unique combination of WD My Book storage and MioNet award winning software creates a new concept in storage enabling virtually
limitless accessibility to family, friends and associates for sharing and backup.
WD Anywhere Access powered by MioNet makes the My Book World Edition the only shared storage solution seamlessly available in
Windows File Explorer and Windows "Save As" and "Open" options whenever the user is connected to the Internet. MioNet software
delivers instant, simple and secure access to all the documents, video, and photos stored on the My Book World Edition. Now any home
computer, work computer, or even a laptop computer used from a hotel or wireless access point can leverage the entire 1 terabyte of
storage as if the storage was local.
"MioNet technology has enabled us to deliver to My Book customers a simple solution to always-on, always-available and instant access
to data," said Jim Welsh, vice president and general manager, Branded Products and Consumer business. "The My Book family has been popular
because of its simplicity, both in use and design, and WD Anywhere Access offers a remote access and sharing experience that is just as
simple to use and is unique to the market."
The standard version of WD Anywhere Access powered by MioNet delivers remote access and sharing of the My Book World Edition.
Users can also upgrade to the premium version, which adds connectivity between computers for remote computer control, computer to computer
file access, and shared computer screens for online meetings and remote PC support.
"We're especially pleased to work with WD because of their demonstrated commitment to deliver market-leading solutions for the
customers everyday needs" said Brian Miller, Senvid's vice president of marketing. "The My Book World Edition powered by MioNet is the first
example of our combined efforts to deliver unique, high-demand solutions combining world class software and hardware."
